My Palettes

Genome Blocks Sale

Nov 1 2021

We've teamed up with Hyper Glu to bring you Genome Blocks: a generative art system visualizing your OpenPalette colors as blocks of metaverse DNA! 🧬

Genome Blocks procedurally generates groups of grids and populates them with geometric shapes. Your palette colors are then interpolated into new shades by aesthetically-driven rules, generating surprising results.

Hyper Glu approaches art in a very distinctive "mathematical" way. You can check out more of his work here on Behance, or get in touch on Twitter: @hyper_glu

The sale will begin Friday, Nov 5 at 7:00PM UTC 👀 (12:00PM PDT)

Customizing & minting your genome

You'll mint directly from the home page of this site, openpalette.io.

Your metaverse DNA is very personal, and we want make sure you love the genome you mint. For this reason, we're trying a new minting mechanic for this drop: customization ⚙️

When you mint your Genome Block(s), you'll first pick which palette(s) you want to use. Then, for each genome, you'll customize the genetic "seed" factor that determines its traits.

Here's a quick video demonstrating how it will work:

For this drop you won't be able to preview the genome seeds before the sale begins (though we may try that with future drops). Once the sale starts, however, you can test any number of seeds with your palettes before minting the ones you like.

Collection size and price

There will be 1000 Genome Blocks available to mint at a price of 0.05 ETH. Just like our previous collections, one palette lets you mint one Genome Block, and can only be used once. If you use a palette on Genome Blocks, you can still use it again for other collections.

For this drop, you may multimint up to 20 NFTs at a time (if you have that many palettes). Unlike for Nue Geo, we won't be enforcing a 1-per-wallet limit for the first 4 hours. Compared to last month, ETH is up and gas is high, so we don't want to waste anybody's money by forcing them to mint multiple times.

Final thoughts

This will be the first OpenPalette collection using Studio 721 for the smart contract development! If this goes smoothly, it will set a great precendent, because this is a relatively advanced smart contract as NFTs go.

We've been working on this collection for a while now to get all the details just right, and I think it turned out incredible 😍. I hope you feel the same way!
